Rather than write a poem talking about myself in third person, I'll just explain the things that drive my photography. I love being outdoors and capturing the essence of the natural world and man's relationship with it. It's a way for me to escape the daily dejections of city life and a way for me to feed my creative endeavours.
I use both digital and analog film to capture light and process images in Photoshop. How much processing? That depends...I process images as close to how I envisioned the scene at the time of capture using traditional methods through modern means. That means, dodging, burning, selective color, sharpening, curves and contrast masking. I do not: blend multiple exposures of different photographs to extend the dynamic range(HDR), take another photograph's element and layer(sandwich) that to another photograph....I consider this digital imagery. I will clone out dust on the image and non conforming elements such as garbage and liter that happens across my image - these are far and few between as I tend to be meticulous on scouring the scene but they do creep up sometimes.
Why still use film with the advent of digital technology? Simple, I want multiple options to capture the image. If I believe the the scene is served better with a Large Format camera then I use film for it's tonal gradients and high resolution. If I have to run around and make fast compositions and decisions with fast changing light, I use digital. These are just tools to achieve different ends, much like an painter with different brushes to paint different subjects.
